The fact that I grew up with black and white TV's, manual typewriters, and rotary phones officially qualifies me as an "old fart". Not surprisingly, old farts look at technology differently than the generation that has grown up with technology.
This article from a Scientific American Blog has an interesting perspective on how your generation uses technology. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I think that the ease that my generation is able to receive pleasure from technology reflects in the growth of diagnosed attention-deficient disorders. We're so used to having games and music at the touch of a button, that when these are not accessible, our mind wanders. We start fidgeting because there isn't something filling the blank. Our minds are programmed to take in an overload of data, but as this article pointed out, that doesn't mean we will be the greatest at processing it. Anything beyond simple comprehension seems to be unnecessary, because "we have computers for that."
